Each subject is divided up into specific areas and each area has a set of criteria. At each reporting stage students are assessed against the criteria and assigned an academic stage.
There are 6 academic stages in Year 7 and Year 8.
Year 7:
Year 8:
Year 9:
In Year 9 the grade range has been reduced to 1 – 5 (highest), with grade 3 and higher equating to GCSE ready. The grade range used will be as follows:
1- | 1 | 1+ | 2- | 2 | 2+ | 3- | 3 | 3+ | 4- | 4 | 4+ | 5- | 5 | 5+ |
The grades achieved in Year 9 should be seen as the foundation for achievement at GCSE. They cannot be seen as a prediction for future outcomes as they are based solely on the Year 9 curriculum.
