Count on Us 2025 Champions
Big congratulations to the Camden Squadrilaterals, who came in first place and are now the 2025 Count on Us Champions.
Count on us is a London wide maths tournament with five competitive maths puzzle rounds. The team did the school proud with all their hard work and focus. There were twelve other mathematically strong schools in the final, a tough competition, but the team came out with top scores.
Each member walked away with a medal.
They committed many lunchtimes and after-school sessions to practice the puzzles, which led them to success. They were highly praised by teachers from the competing schools for their quick thinking and algebraic skills.
Well done to Iffy, Lana, Lila, Lily and Sophia!
The maths department and the whole school are very proud of you!
Go Squadrilaterals!!

STEM Club at the Finals of TEENTECH 2025
The TeenTech Awards 2025 Final was held at the IET in London on Friday, 27 June, celebrating the hard work of students across the UK who responded to the challenge set by founder and presenter, Maggie Philbin: Are you an innovator? Do you have an idea which could make life easier, simpler or better?
Just shy of 1500 entries from around the UK sent projects to the competition and the entries from CSG received a Gold Certificate of excellence. 65 teams of 11-16 year old’s from as far afield as Guernsey were in attendance at the final and impressively two teams selected were year 9s from CSG.
Iffy, Delphia, Sajidah, Shivonne, Zahara and Zahra have all been regular attenders of STEM Club and used this time to develop projects that showed phenomenal research skills and creativity in solving problems faced by the world with innovative use of tech. The Final was a wonderful and powerful opportunity to showcase qualities which are appreciated by both employers and further education. CSG is looking forward to recruiting new members of STEM Club from next year's year 9s and hopefully continuing our success as a TeenTech Center of Innovation.
We had a surprise win at the end of the ceremony with team SafeStride announced as joint winners of the People’s Choice Award. Even without this success, both teams had a fantastic day.

Here are a few comments from their feedback of the day:
I really enjoyed seeing how passionate everyone was about their ideas and how they really brought them to life.
I really enjoyed talking to the other students and meeting them and learning all about their ideas and their values.
I thought it was really interesting to speak to different people around the country and learn about their ideas, because a lot of people have worked really hard on their ideas and put together really interesting projects.
It was really, really fun. It was a really good experience. I feel like I learnt a lot, and I got to meet new people who were also very innovative. It was good to network and recognise that we’re smart and innovative and already meeting people our age that stand out as the best in the country.
All the students were so mature, articulate and impressive, pitching and presenting their projects and ideas and networking with their peers.
Well done!

Alix Bauldry Memorial Scholarship Assembly
On Monday morning, the students attended a special one-off prize-giving assembly where the Alix Bauldry Memorial Scholarships were awarded. This scholarship was established last year by an alumna from the USA, Ms. Jenny Davis JD, Professor of Practice in Fashion Media. Jenny studied here in the 1980s and was close friends with Alix Bauldry. Tragically, Alix passed away in her twenties, and this award was created in her memory.
The scholarship was presented to four Year 11 students in recognition of their tenacity, grit, humour and style. Congratulations to Lana, Aajal, Eva and Halima, who each received a certificate of recognition along with a prize of £250.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Jenny for making the journey to the UK to personally present the awards. We look forward to welcoming her back again next summer.

Jewellery Club
The jewellery club kicked off last week with enthusiastic jewellery students starting to learn wire wrapping techniques. We started with learning to thread beads and, during our second session yesterday, Millie in 7M finished this beautiful pair of earrings. We are looking forward to sharing more beautiful pieces made by the girls in the jewellery club and the special activity workshop in the coming weeks!

Year 12 Psychology - Influencing and improving the Happier.Me app
Our Yr 12 cohort have been partaking in a feedback study to see how psychological theory is applied to help people via apps by trialling the Happier.Me app.
This app is designed to help users deal with their challenges, manage their emotions, habits and mental health, have happier relationships, and develop their communication and leadership skills to flourish in life.
The study finished with a visit from the founder Tana-Macpherson Smith on Tuesday, the founder of the app and an experienced therapist. Our Psychology students gave their honest feedback and suggestions for improvement to Tana and not only are we proud of them for how they coped with the heat on the first floor but also for what they gave in their opinions.
Tana emailed that night to say 'Your pupils were wonderful. Engaging. Engaged. Thoughtful. Their observations, feedback and ideas were exactly what I had hoped for, and they didn’t disappoint.'

Danceathon 2025
Last Thursday saw all students in Years 7 -10 take part in our annual Danceathon!!
Year 7 kicked the day off in style, with great energy and enthusiasm! Each form competed in the Dance-Off where they performed the piece they had been choreographing in PE lessons, with 7C emerging as the victors!
After the break, Year 10 and Year 9 joined us with 10M and 9R winning the Dance-Offs. There was a tie in the Year 8 Dance-Off between 8M and 8T, which was set up by 3 people from each form dancing off against each other! In a very close decision, 8M were the eventual winners!!
The final was a very hard fought competition between 7C, 8M, 9R and 10M with each form giving everything they had in their performances, demonstrating yet again just how high the standard of dance is at CSG!
9R were named the overall winners, with their outstanding performance to Lose My Breath/Salute!
Well done to everyone that took part

A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!
Last Thursday’s Dancethon was without doubt a day to remember! In fact, Ms Law described it as “quite possibly the most exciting, dynamic and fun Danceathon in the illustrious seven-year history of CSG Danceathons!”
The energy was unbelievable, the choreography was incredible, and the finalists battled it out in a nail-biting finish that saw our judges needing time out to deliberate. Most importantly, it was clear that everyone – students and staff – had a fantastic time.
Big congratulations to 9R for their very well-deserved victory, and to Zoe for winning the solo dancer crown.
And a big, big thank you to all of you who donated to sponsor the students. With your help we raised £1,800! We’re so grateful for your support, and it will be put to good use in our school clubs so all our students can benefit from additional activities.
Until next year
