A total of 33 students achieved 9-7 grades in eight or more GCSE subjects.  11 students achieved 9-8 grades in eight or more GCSE subjects.  Two students achieved 8 or more grade 9s.

I am delighted with these outstanding results. They are well-deserved by an extremely hard-working set of students, and they were exceptionally well-supported by the excellent teaching staff. I am especially pleased to see a total of 126 grade 9s achieved by students at CSG, the very highest grade in the new specifications.

Exceptional grades achieved in the sixth form’s most popular subjects, English, mathematics, history and the sciences

Very strong performance across ‘facilitating subjects’

With 83 students, English Literature is the school’s most popular subject, and we’re thrilled to see 92% achieving A* - B grades here.

Mathematics is the second most popular, with 73 students taking it through to A level, and gaining stunning results with 64% at A*-B grades.

A number of students took further mathematics (10) and 90% achieved A*-B grades.

The subject with the third highest number of entries (72) is History, and we’re delighted that 85% scored A*-B grades here.

There was also strong performance across the three sciences (biology, chemistry, physics) with 97students taking one or more science A level and achieving 72% A*-B grades.

Students have come away with very high grades in geography (91% A*-B), Spanish (79% A*-B) and French (91% A*- B). The subjects mentioned above are all ‘facilitating subjects’, and are highly prized for university entry.

Also performing exceptionally well are art, with 79% achieving A*-B grades, government and politics at 88% A* - B grades, drama at 88% A*-B grades and photography 90% A* - B grades.

    Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)

These are exceptionally strong results, reflecting extremely hard work by students and teachers, and consistent support from parents. Our students are ambitious and determined to achieve to the best of their ability, and these grades demonstrate that their effort and dedication over challenging two year courses have been worthwhile.

    Congratulations to all!
