At the end of June, we were offered the opportunity to take part in the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge.
This is a test organised by Cambridge which involves applying our A-Level chemistry knowledge in unfamiliar contexts. We worked on test papers with Dr Butterworth over the last few weeks to prepare us for the test. It was an enriching experience as it forces you to think about science beyond the curriculum, therefore helping you to develop your analytical understanding.
As a year 12 student, it also increased my interest in studying chemistry at a higher level, and would recommend the experience to anyone studying chemistry. Our group was awarded 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals and a bronze medal.
