This week: Summerfest
Once again the Camden School for Girls Summerfest on Friday 22 June was a great success.
Students ran, or helped at a number of stalls, and it was wonderful to see so many of them enjoying the event.
Our CASCA members worked exceptionally hard to make the evening such a triumph. They have given their time, expertise and goodwill very generously and I know great effort went into planning and making refreshments, gathering items for stalls and setting everything up before we opened.
The quality of the refreshments on offer was extraordinary, with delicious home-cooked food available as well as cakes, strawberries and drinks. There were great prizes to win on the Tombola and the Raffle, and some beautiful plants to get into the garden this weekend. Bric-a-brac, the Silent Auction and all the other stalls drew customers throughout the festival. Finally, many thanks to our performers and the judges of the Battle of the Bands - the students provided a really summery atmosphere as the music filled the hall and courtyard and our judges kindly gave their expert opinions and offered welcome feedback to the musicians.
Many Camden students attended the event and brought their younger brothers and sisters. The bouncy castle was a great draw; many thanks to Martyn Gerrard estate agents for providing this and staffing it throughout the evening. We have also managed to raise an incredible £4,500 - so far - but that doesn’t include the Silent Auction, so I’m sure that figure will increase!
The atmosphere was friendly, cheerful and lively, and it was wonderful to host our first CASCA event in the extended hall and foyer - all areas which were supported by previous CASCA fund-raising.
This annual event shows how Camden School for Girls works together as a team for the benefit of us all and I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Katrina and her team for providing such an enjoyable evening.
