CASCA meeting, Parents' Forum and SummerFest

Casca Meeting and Parents' Forum - Tuesday 16 May, from 6pm

Our next CASCA Open meeting and Parents' Forum are both on Tuesday 16 May. We hope you'll come along!
The evening will kick off at 6pm with delicious refreshments (bar and Mary's food), the CASCA Open Meeting & AGM from 6.30pm and our Parents' Forum speaker, David Hodgson, at 7.30pm.  It'll be a great opportunity to socialise and to hear about what's going on.

At our AGM, we'll celebrate the year's achievements and look ahead - and include the short (but necessary) formalities of electing CASCA officers.
Greg (Chair), Imogen (Vice-Chair, Communications), Harriet (Treasurer) and Barbara (joint Secretary) are willing to stand again. But we need 2 new committee members to help with finances and with parent engagement/volunteers in particular. If you're interested in either of these roles, please see details on ParentMail or email

Parents' Forum - What's your child really like? - 7.30pm

Join author and educationalist David Hodgson to find out how your child ticks, and unlock the secrets of positive family dynamics. This exciting session for parents will follow the AGM.

    Summerfest - Friday 9 June (6pm-9pm)

Our annual SummerFest is in just 5 weeks! We're hoping for a real festival spirit, with fabulous music, food, drink and lots of stalls. Many thanks to everyone who has offered to run a stall. But we need some more volunteers to help with the stalls - please email Maia at: if you can help out, or if you have an idea for a stall you'd like to run.

Silent Auction - unique, money-can't-buy prizes needed

Our Silent Auction is always popular - but it takes unique, money-can't-buy items to make it really successful. So we're looking for donations of anything with a nice high-interest auction value - event passes and tickets; artist's prints and signed limited edition books; signed film posters and goodie bags; trips behind the scenes at the BBC or similar; an opportunity to be an extra in a TV or film shoot; original designer clothes items; a piece of art work; a stay in a holiday home; family tickets to London Zoo, Wembley or similar. Think creatively - do you work somewhere that can offer an experience? Coaching, training, yoga, gliding.... Or could your local restaurant offer a meal for two?  Please let Nicki Longfoot know if you can donate something very special! Email her at:

Tombola and Raffle - prizes needed

We also need great prizes for the tombola and raffle. Please look through your cupboards to see if there's anything you could donate, such as: homemade delicacies, bottles of wine, liqueur or spirits, signed books, unwanted gifts, bags, glassware, toiletries and perfume, chocolates and sweets, toys or make-up, or local vouchers for a hairdresser or stationery, for example. Please send any offerings as soon as possible to School Reception.

Perhaps ask your local businesses. Hundreds of students, family members and friends come to the SummerFest, so it's a great opportunity for business promotion in the local community!

We hope to see you on Tuesday 16 May - CASCA
