Y7 Trip to the Tower of London

On 18 and 20 June, Year 7 went on a history trip to the Tower of London. The trip looked at the importance of the Tower following the Norman Conquest, the symbolic significance of the White Tower and how the uses of the tower have changed over time.

The Tower of London has been an important site for almost 1000 years and has been (amongst other things) a castle, the Royal Mint, an armoury, a zoo, a prison and now a tourist destination.

During the visit, Year 7 were given a talk by a Norman knight who discussed the events leading up to the Norman Conquest and the impact of the Conquest on England.
