    Jack Petchey Awards

    We are delighted to announce that the students below have been chosen as winners of the Jack Petchey Achievement Awards for June 2019:

    Halle 10R - Halle has been nominated for her enthusiasm and motivation as a member of the Head Girl Team and her energy as a member of the form: each year she choreographs and teaches the whole group a dance and shows particular patience with students who may find this difficult. She has shown good leadership skills and has taken a proactive approach to helping out at whole school events, showing a sound ability to understand when younger students might need extra guidance or support.

    She has been involved in and lead assemblies and always likes to put herself forward to plan school events. She is responsible, helpful, polite, represents the form on the school council and makes thoughtful contributions in form time.

    Mahfuza 10C - Mahfuza has been nominated as she is a kind hearted individual who truly wants to make a positive difference to the people around her. She is a fantastic representative for her form and the school. She has always contributed and helped at Parents Evening and supporting staff as and when required. She has written articles for the school Friday news about mental health and stress awareness. She has organised the whole form to raise awareness of various issues in year assemblies. She has worked really hard in raising money for Childline.

    Khadijah 9R - Khadijah has always shown a great interest in the world and has taken it upon herself to do something about the state of the environment. She has taken part in a summer camp run by the charity, Action for Conservation and was so inspired by the work that they do that she has brought this desire for change to school, doing what she can to tackle climate change. She is now an ambassador for the charity. Due to her popularity within school and contributions, she has been nominated to be one of the deputy head’s girl. She has always attended school council for the form, helping to organise form events and fundraisers.

    Raya 9R - Raya has worked hard as PE ambassador to motivate and support other members of the year group in PE and sports clubs, always there and helpful to lend a hand and does a wonderful job of sharing information and announcements to her peers. She also helps to organise events and attends the school council regularly for the form. She has been recently selected for the new head girl team. She regularly arrives early at school to practise playing the piano and drums. On the weekend she attends a Bulgarian school and participates in sports activities.

    Elspeth 8R - Elspeth has been fully invested in all fundraising opportunities as part of the form and individually since year 7. She is an important member of Refugee Society promoting it within the Year group to raise money and awareness. Taking part in all related activities. She has outstanding academic achievement and always involved in PE within the school. She is a fantastic role model to her form.

    Marwa 8R - She has been a PE ambassador this year and shown real commitment, reliability and maturity in this role. All these qualities have shown on a weekly basis with her support in setting up and organising trampolining and football each week.

     She is a great role model to her peers and always helps them with kindness and understanding. She has really risen to the challenge that she has been entrusted with and she should be very proud of herself as we are of her.

    Each student will receive a certificate accompanied with a congratulation letter, pin badge and "Notes from JP Booklet" – these will be presented to them in their individual year assembly.
