Debating News - The London Debate Challenge

On Tuesday 21 May, Martha, Ines, Lola, Lea and Emma took part in the first round of the English Speaking Union’s London Debate Challenge at Dartmouth House in Mayfair.

Over the course of the day, students took part in a variety of debating activities before three debates against schools from all over London.

    The motions were as follows:

    • This house would abolish the British monarchy
    • This house would tax sugary foods and drinks
    • This house would ban gambling

Our students did very well in the three debates and were announced as borough champions and will progress through to the next round.
