    Y8 Fundraising

Over the last half term, each Year 8 form has chosen a charity to raise money for. They have worked as a group to select a cause they feel passionately about and then spent time discussing creative and appropriate fundraising opportunities for the charity. So far we have seen some truly impressive efforts towards commendable causes. A few highlights are as follows:

    • 8M raised well over £100 for the Stroke Association by collectively running a marathon in their PE lessons. In fact, they ran almost three marathons with a collective effort of 76 miles!
    • 8T ran a bake sale which sold out in under 10 minutes for Refuge, a charity which helps victims of domestic abuse. Students have pledged to gain sponsorship for individual activities as well to add to this total over the next term.
    • 8R also ran a food sale for a local knife crime charity which raised over £50, with an impressive selection of homemade goodies.
    • 8C have pledged some very exciting prospects for the summer term to raise money.

Each form has also prepared an assembly on their chosen charity to help raise awareness of their cause but also to promote their fundraising.

Within the year team we have been truly impressed by the community spirit the students have embodied and want to commend all students who have been involved.
