Milou Mai, a year 12 History of Art student, gave an excellent talk on Johannes Zoffany, Ttribuna of Uffizi 1772–1777 in the regional final of ARTiculation at the Whitechapel Gallery last Wednesday 9 January 2019.
ARTiculation was established eleven years ago to give young people a forum in which they are able to express their own ideas on art.
Milou spoke well though was not selected to continue to the next round. The judge Kate Church praised Milou’s presentation for ‘including such colour and humour and for how beautifully the talk was written.’
Milou was selected from winning a previous interschool heat with UCS and Highgate on Wednesday 5 December, and a year 12 Camden heat in November.
Around 4500 young people participated nationally in Articulation this year. ARTiculation which is open to any sixth form students studying any subject is well placed to highlight Higher Education and career opportunities to students. It is also useful preparation for an EPQ, Personal Statements and UCAS application.
ARTiculation is not solely for History of Art students and Mr Aronsohn welcomes speakers from all subject areas in year 12 or 13 in September 2019.
