We are very grateful for the very kind book donation from Penguin Random House to our library.
On Thursday, the 1 March to celebrate World Book Day a team of professionals from Penguin Random House UK kindly offered to put on a publishing workshop for sixth form students.
There was a very enthusiastic response in the sixth form to the workshop, and the students were very excited about developing their knowledge of the industry and the diverse careers in it. Students were put into groups, given a book, Penguin are just about to launch, and allocated different roles eg marketing, editorial, design. In true Camden style, the students came up with some really interesting and innovative suggestions and impressed all the professionals!
Reading is very much celebrated in the school and the opportunity to extend our celebration of books and the essential role they play in our lives with such a prestigious publishing firm was fantastic.
We are also very grateful for the very kind book donation from Penguin Random House to our library which is the vibrant reading hub of the school and very popular with students from year 7 to year 13.
