This week: Year Eight parents’ Consultation, Times Parent Power 2020, Remote Learning

    Year Eight parents’ consultation
We’ve had very positive feedback from teachers about this week’s Year Eight Parents’ consultation. Colleagues felt it was particularly important to meet parents of students in this year group as the Year 7 parents’ evening couldn’t take place due to the lockdown. We look forward to deepening and strengthening these relationships over time.

    Times Parent Power 2020
We’re very pleased to feature in the ‘Times Parent Power 2020 Best Secondary Schools in London’ list, ranked 15th, after 14 selective grammar schools. I’ve attached the article if you’d like to read it.

Remote Learning - thank you for your support and encouragement!
We’re still receiving good reports about student engagement with remote learning, four weeks into the lockdown. I was worried that students’ motivation might begin to reduce by this stage, but this doesn’t seem to be the case for most of them.

I know that parents are really behind the school in enabling students to carry on learning at home and we are very grateful to you for all you are doing to make our job easier, and to encourage, motivate and support your child or children. It cannot be easy for you, or for the students, so let’s hope it doesn’t last too much longer. However long it lasts, our partnership with you is fundamental to our students’ well-being.

Many of you have written to us with very positive messages about our Remote Learning approach and I am passing these messages on to teachers, who are delighted to read them. They really appreciate your kind words, and the fact that you have taken the time to write when you are so busy.  Apologies if I haven’t replied to you if you have written in - please rest assured that your views are being shared.

    With best wishes
