The music department, through Camden Music Service, is able to offer a wide range of instrumental and vocal tuition in a variety of styles. Alongside the orchestral string, wind and brass lessons we are able to offer vocal, guitar, percussion and piano teachers specialising in classical, jazz and popular music.
Information for parents:
Students sign up for instrument lessons through the music office. Please send your daughter to collect a form if you know they are interested in starting. Students can start at any point in the year, although it is preferable to begin at the start of a term. For the first lesson, your daughter will receive a note in her register (at least a day in advance!) telling her the day and time of her lesson. Sixth form students will receive a text. After the first lesson, students must arrange times with their teacher or check the noticeboard (see below).
Lessons take place during the normal school day but the time rotates so that the same lesson isn't missed every week. Sometimes lessons will take place at break, lunchtime or after school. Sixth form students will have a lesson in their free periods, lunch break or before/after school. Each week the teacher will give out the time of the next lesson. These are also written up on a noticeboard outside the staff room. If you daughter subsequently has a problem with her lesson time (e.g. because of a test, practical or trip) she should come to the music office a week in advance to swap her time.
If you have any questions about instrumental lessons, do email firstname.lastname@example.org.
