Y7 Visit the Tower of London

Students also visited the White Tower, which is over 900 years old, the Crown Jewels and the prison, which still has graffiti on the walls from the 1500s!

On Tuesday 20 and Thursday 22, Year 7 visited the Tower of London on a History trip. They were led in a discussion and role play about the Norman Conquest by a guide dressed as a 11th century Saxon who re-enacted the Battle of Hastings and talked through the impact of the Norman invasion in the years following 1066.

After the talk students split into groups to find out information about how the Tower has changed its usage over the years. Some of the interesting past uses of the Tower are as a prison, the Royal Mint and a zoo.

Students also visited the White Tower, which is over 900 years old, the Crown Jewels and the prison, which still has graffiti on the walls from the 1500s!
