Classics Talk: Gods and Justice in the Odyssey

Dr Pavlos Avlamis from KCL came to Camden to lead an enlightening and thought-provoking talk on what kinds of justice were to be found in the Odyssey. He suggested to the audience of students from Y10-13 that there were actually two different systems of justice in the Odyssey, one governed by Zeus in the normal realm and the other by Poseidon in the magical lands that Odysseus visits on his decade-long voyage home. There were many thoughtful questions put to Dr Avlamis and he answered them with enthusiasm.

In all, students and staff from four schools attended, some of whom have been attending our after-school GCSE Greek programme.
