    Art Department Trip to Barcelona

Many thanks to all the students for making the trip so memorable for all the right reasons.

Just before Easter we took 40 students from year 12 who are all studying Art, Photography, History of Art or a combination of these subjects to Barcelona.

We spent 4 days getting to know the city and visiting many, but not all, of the city's fabulous art galleries and museums. We went to the National Art Museum of Catalonia, the Miro Foundation, the Picasso Museum, Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona Pavilion and the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art. We also went to the beach and Parc Guell as well as taking the famous cable car across the bay. We stayed in a great area called Garcia just outside the city centre.

Many thanks to all the students for making the trip so memorable for all the right reasons.

'I loved basking in the sun next to a lake right in front of the Sagrada Familia. That was my favourite part.’  Bella

'My favourite memory would probably have to be climbing up the huge hill in the Gaudi garden on the last day. It felt like it naturally linked to his planty curly architectural style. It was a really beautiful walk and from the top it had an amazing view of all of Barcelona.' Rose

'My favourite part of the trip was seeing people make new friends. It was a really happy time.'  Amelia
