Thank you and congratulations!
TABLE TOP SALE
Our Table Top Sale was a great success last Saturday afternoon. It raised an amazing £1731 for the school - a record amount! So, many thanks to our 42 stall-holders and 14 rail-keepers who offered lots of great stuff for the customers to buy and to everyone who donated cakes and items for the CASCA stall. Almost half the tables were run by regulars, who have been setting up stall for many years - it's a popular event! Everyone we spoke to was pleased with their sales - and some asked for more than one Table Top Sale each year...
A big thanks also to our new team Irene Graham, Sheila Donn and Rachel Orme - who ran the event for the first time this year - and of course our indefatigable Mary Kavanagh who led them through the process. Thanks too to all the school staff who gave amazing help too - Don (school keeper) and Lynda Charlesworth for her counting, as well as Jackie, Karen, Lynn, Elaine and Jenny who all helped with publicity and administration - essential ingredients for success. We look forward to next year's event - with our new (now experienced) team!
The Quiz Night also was a fantastic success - and great fun, with delicious food and warm atmosphere. The hall was packed with people, laughter and friendly competition on the ever-challenging and entertaining questions. A highlight was the line-up of fake orange Trump look-a-likes, complete with American accents and infamous quotes, compered brilliantly by David Baddiel, our maestro quiz master.
As always, the CASCA Bar was extremely popular - the fabulous Camden Cocktails a great innovation. Overall, the evening made a staggering £6,000 - an amazing amount to help make the school a special place to study. Sam and Sam Clark were incredibly generous in donating all the delicious Moro food, as well as the drinks, and staff and chefs in the kitchen.
A huge thanks again to everyone who helped make the evening such a success and in particular Kelly Pawlyn who led the whole event with such applomb. The Quiz Night wouldn't have been possible without the generous and creative input from all the following brave individuals also: Mark Edmonds, Rob Poll, Kate Cullinan and Mary Kavanagh, Andy Stevens, Pip Schofield, Elizabeth Kitcatt, Susan Green & Lynda Farrell – our glamorous scorers, Gail Smith’s fab flowers, Rosemary Bradshaw, Ryder, Don, Tony, Jenny & the wonderful staff at CSG, our talented team of servers, our charming meet & greet team, and everyone who continues to support Camden School for Girls. Mary's raffle alone made a record £732, thanks to all the generous people and local businesses who donated prizes (see below). Thanks too to everyone who came along and supported the event, including parents, friends, staff and of course our student helpers.
We have lots to look forward to, including a Parents' Forum on Wednesday 3 May, CASCA meeting and AGM on Wednesday 17 May (note new date), our annual SummerFest on Friday 9 June, and a new Dance-a-thon on Friday 30 June. Watch out for more details....
Thank you for all your support!
