    Play Streets

Message from London Borough of Camden.

    Dear School Parents/Carers/Staff

There is a scheme up and running in Camden called Play Streets.  A Play Street is an event where a road is closed off to traffic for a few hours on a regular basis in order to provide children with a safe space to play freely. Play Streets are organised, managed and run by local communities themselves, with the Council offering advice and organising the closure of the road to traffic.

Camden are keen to get more up and running in the borough

The scheme is led by residents who would like to have a play street on their road, and once up and running, the play streets are run by volunteers.

Kentish Town C of E school on Islip street has supported this scheme, along with parents, and is the first one in Camden which will run immediately after the school day, for a couple of hours on a specified day fortnightly.
