Quiz Night –Tickets selling fast, don’t miss out!
Buy your tickets for our infamous annual Quiz Night on Thursday 15 March before they sell out. Some questions will be fun, some a bit deep and others a bit trashy but they are all definitely easier than last year!
This year the theme is anti-throwaway plastic and by coming along you'll be helping us to equip the school canteen with industrial dishwashers and reusable crockery and cutlery. Hosted by comedian David Schneider, Quiz Night tickets are £20 for a delicious supper and fabulous entertainment. Concessions are just £10 - for OAP, unwaged, teachers and students.
Over 170 tickets already sold, just 40 left! To book, please contact email@example.com . Hope to see you there!
we also need nice raffle prizes for the popular Quiz Night raffle (bottles, gifts, art, books, vouchers etc etc) - so please put aside anything you could donate.
Parents’ Forum - Thursday 8 March - 'A Bluffer’s Guide to Social Media’ - Ravin Sampat, Assistant Editor of BBC Stories, BBC News
Do you understand your streaks from your snaps? Are you familiar with the way your child uses Instagram Stories? Increasingly our children are living much of their lives on social media, but for many parents this rapidly evolving online world is a mystery. Ravin Sampat, Assistant Editor of BBC Stories, BBC News, has led the way in digital innovation at the BBC - creating the first ever documentary using Snapchat for Panorama.
In a practical, hands-on talk, he'll demystify the language and tools of social media, to help parents (and their kids) avoid some of the common hazards of trolling, negative talk, bullying and inappropriate posting. He'll be joined by Natasha Bateman, BBC Stories Instagram presenter and content producer, who will give you her perspective on using and working with social media tools.
We are aiming to make the discussion as interactive as possible and would love to get questions in advance, so we can cover issues that are concerning or of interest to parents.
So, please do email any questions in advance to: Ravin.Sampat@bbc.co.uk.
