    Y9 Public Speaking Competition

At the beginning of this term in English, Year 9 have been writing and delivering speeches in class on a topic of their choice. On Tuesday 8 May, thirteen Year 9 students were selected to deliver their speeches to the whole year group. The standard of the speeches, both in class and in the competition, was very high this year with topics ranging from the recent local knife crimes to ‘Be Proud of Yourself’.

Three of the overall winners delivered their speeches in whole school assembly last Monday - a fantastic achievement.

Congratulations to Aurora 9C for Best Content on Sweatshops, Yana 9C for Best Delivery on ‘The Food in my Fridge’ and Stella 9M for Student Choice Winner on the School Dress Code. Congratulations also to our Overall Winner Yi Zhen 9R, whose speech was on Asian Stereotypes.

One final and huge well done to our class winners for their impressive performances: Anisa, Mahfuza, Belen, Alissia, Fatima, Sheulee, Delina, Lailanee and Sade.
