Quiz Night, Parents' Forum, Table Top Sale....
DRAMSTOCK! – a great evening!
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Dramstock! such a success. It was a fabulous night, with great music from all the bands - students, teachers and parents - and even some dancing.... It gave many talented young people a warm, lively, real-life platform to hone their performing skills, and also raised over £1,400 for the school. Particular thanks to Royston, for making it happen once again, to Calla Rae for fabulous compering, to Will Byers for all his support, and to all the parents who helped out on the door and on Andy's lovely bar - as well, of course, as all the musicians!
Parents’ Forum - Thursday 8 March - 'A Bluffer’s Guide to Social Media’
Do you understand your streaks from your snaps? Are you familiar with the way your child uses Instagram Stories? Increasingly our children are living much of their lives on social media, but for many parents this rapidly evolving online world is a mystery. Ravin Sampat, Assistant Editor of BBC Stories, has led the way in digital innovation at the BBC - creating the first ever documentary using Snapchat for Panorama. In a practical, hands-on talk, he will demystify the language and tools of social media, to help parents (and their kids) avoid some of the common hazards of trolling, negative talk, bullying and inappropriate posting.
