    SLAMbassadors UK 2017

(News from the Poetry Society - poetrysociety.org.uk)

SLAMbassdors UK is for poets aged 12-18. Since it began in 2001 the Award has kick-started the career of some of today’s most exciting new voices. It is one of the largest competitions of its kind and is free to enter.

We are delighted that one of our students, Honey 13UG01, has been chosen by judges Sabrina Mahfouz and Joelle Taylor as this year’s Cold Fire Award winner for SLAMbassadors UK 2017.

Honey attended a weekend of workshops and performed at the SLAMbassadors UK National Final at Cargo in London on Sunday 19 November.

    Mathilde 9C

How fabulous that Mathilde 9C has once again been recognised for her achievements in hockey! Last year we featured Mathilde in our November Friday News when she was awarded a Hackney Council Sports Silver award for her achievements; this year Mathilde has been awarded a Hackney Council Sports Silver award for her contribution to hockey.

She will receive a cash sum to pay for hockey equipment and free membership of a local sports centre. Well done Mathilde!
