MORE@MORO - a night to remember - thank you!
Monday night may just go down in CSG History! A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who joined in, in any way, and helped to make More@Moro such a special event for the school...
There was a lovely, convivial atmosphere and a great sense of community - with a full house of parents, carers, alumni, staff and other friends of the school. We were bowled over by the passionate support for the school - from the lovely student musicians who serenaded the guests in, to the huge generosity of the donors who gifted such wonderful 'select, but very special' prizes for the auction and raffle, the enthusiastic bidders in the really nail-biting auction, and of course all the guests who brought such warmth and commitment to the school.
We look forward with anticipation to see what artwork Cornelia Parker will create with Begbie's Pink Pringle sweater from Trainspotting! Watch this space ...
It was a huge privilege to be able to host More@Moro in such a beautiful restaurant with a lovely menu of delicious food and wine - so a big thanks to Sam and Sam Clark, Moro founders, their wonderfully talented team.
Together, More@Moro raised a staggering £46,000 for everyone at Camden School for Girls. Elizabeth Kitcatt called the event an astounding triumph - and CASCA is humbled by so many people’s generosity, both before and during the event.
A big thanks to the CASCA More@Moro team also - Kelly, Kate, Sam, Imogen, Greg and Nicki, who worked so hard as a team to make it all happen – as well as to all the school staff who helped behind the scenes, particularly Rosemary, Lynda, Kathy, Jenny, Jackie and their wonderful teams.
If you won a prize, we really hope that you get great joy from it. We still need to link some raffle winners with their prizes, so if you hold a ticket, please email Imogen, firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know.
More@Moro was part of our year-long 60 for 60 campaign to help furnish all the new school spaces. So, if you couldn't join in this time, but want to support the school on 60 for 60 anyway, please do so either at the 60 for 60 Just Giving site or via your ParentPay account.
ENORMOUS JUMBLE SALE - BRING YOUR JUMBLE TO SCHOOL
Our huge Jumble Sale is just 3 weeks away on Saturday 11 November (2 - 4pm).
JUMBLE...we need lots of it!
If you haven't yet, now's the time to sort your jumble.....and bring it into the school, to the main reception.
We need LOADS of things, including:
- adult and children's clothing (no torn or soiled items please )
- bags, shoes, scarves, belts etc
- CDs, DVDs, Records
- books & toys
- electrical goods in good working order and furniture
- Christmas decorations/cards and unwanted gifts for our Christmas stall
- PLUS hangers and plastic bags
CAKES....we will also need, closer to the event, LOTS AND LOTS OF CAKES....for our famous afternoon teas, as well as our cake stall - both big hits with our local community. We can never have enough, so get your recipes out.....but don't bring your cakes in quite yet!
Thanks to everyone who has already volunteered....but we still need more helpers. We also need some dads please – four for Friday afternoon to help shift jumble from storage area to shop floor; 2 dads for Saturday morning to stand at doors to ensure only jumble sale helpers come in (ie. no dealers or sneaky members of the public trying to get in first); and 3-4 more dads for security for the day.

- Saturday 11 Nov, 10am - 1pm: tidying up
- Saturday 11 Nov, 1.15pm to 4pm (arrival by 1.15pm): selling on stalls
- Saturday 11 Nov, from 4pm: tidying up afterwards
Jumble to school
If you don't have transport, and have big items or a lot of jumble, we can arrange for it to be picked up. Please let Mary know.
Please note that we can't accept any items for the Jumble Sale after 6pm on Friday 10 November - so don't leave it to the last minute. We'd have to ask you to take anything home after that time. Best to get it to the school ASAP.
PARENTS' FORUM - Tuesday 28 November 2017 Having the talk: how to be open with teenagers about sex, porn and sexting
Our next Parents' Forum, on sex education for parents, promises to be a very topical and thought-provoking event, so book the date in your diary.
Consent, pleasure, respect, body confidence, LCBT+ issues, the gendered impact of porn and 'sexting'....kids these days have a lot on their plates. With an expert panel chaired by Leah Jewett, Women's Equality Party, and including Meg Veit, 'near-peer' Young People's Service Manager for sexual health charity, Diverse, and Yoan Reed, RSE educator and facilititor, the Parents' Forum will open your eyes to their world. Do come along!
