Latin Trip to Natalie Haynes Lecture

Natalie Haynes will be visiting CSG to give a masterclass on the 30 November.

Celebrating 2000 years since the death of Ovid, author and comedian Natalie Haynes did a talk at South Hampstead School all about the famous ancient writer and why his work is still so important today. We learnt about ancient Roman society, in particular how women were treated at the time and Ovid's controversial and rather unfeminist attitudes. Haynes highlighted the importance of recognising the faults in ancient societies such as sexism but also not being afraid to study them because of such faults.

Natalie Haynes will be visiting CSG to give a masterclass on the 30 November entitled "Honour Among Thebes", where she will discuss the brilliant and challenging Theban Plays of Sophocles (Oedipus the King, Antigone).
